EXPERIENCE
Over the last 15+ years I have had incredible opportunities to learn and grow as a marketer. Most recently, through my business and brand “Make it Fun Mom.”
I created “Make it Fun Mom” over 9 years ago and have adapted my brand as my kids have grown up and as my role as a mother has changed over time. I created my business to help other moms navigate the best and worst moments of motherhood.
I learned in my own life that using “humor” and “fun” helped me to be a better mom. Whether I was doing homework with my kids, accomplishing household chores, or celebrating the small moments in life; I did my best to try to approach life through the lens of “fun.” Time is fleeting, and I spent way too much of it stressing over every little thing. My approach to “finding the fun” made my quality of life improve exponentially and I felt passionate about sharing my secret with others.
“Make it Fun Mom” gave me plenty of experiences and allowed me to develop valuable skills. Pre-scheduling my posts on social media allowed me to balance my work/home life effectively while learning what content was engaging my target audience. My Facebook group of 68k members are made up of 94% women between the ages of 35 and 44. 99% are from the Chicago area. I found many opportunities to market services to that many people from the same demographic in the same area,
Over the years I have learned through trial and error how to create engaging content, tell stories that are impactful, spot business opportunities, and how to receive media coverage. Most importantly, I learned to listen to my core audience and communicate with them in an authentic way that was true to my brand.
Reason for leaving?
I have learned an immeasurable amount from being the “Make it Fun Mom” however I’m excited for new challenges in my life. My kids are older now (13 and 11) and I have the freedom and desire to work outside the home. I enjoyed working from home while my kids were little, but I definitely have missed working with others, collaborating, and celebrating successes together. It has become pretty lonely working all on my own and I want to set my sights on learning new skills and exciting new opportunities.
This is just one reason why I’d love to work and grow with Ivor Andrew!!
Marketing collaboration with “Suds2go.” I combined the popularity of this iconic Schaumburg statue with the use of the Suds2Go product. This campaign was highly successful in connecting with members as well as bringing a useful product to their attention. The timing of this promotion was during the height of the pandemic when washing your hands and fighting germs were top of mind.
